Stannard Township is located in the south end of Ontonagon County in the western end of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The Township is surrounded by the Ottawa National Forest which accounts for well over 50% of its land area.  The Township covers 126 square miles or 80,640 acres and has a population of 790 people according to the 2010 Census. The town of Bruce Crossing located at the intersection of highways M-28 and US-45 is the economic and governmental hub of the Township.

Stannard Township is a quiet and relatively crime free community where quality of life is paramount. Come visit and play in our township. The people are friendly, the air and water are clean, nature is bountiful, our land and rivers are beautiful, and fun awaits those who enjoy the great outdoors.
